The Space
Placed among offices, condos, and other restaurants at Incline Village’s Country Club Centre, Tomaato’s offers both indoor and seasonal outdoor dining, as well as carry-out and delivery. Indoors, the walls are covered with frescoes of the vegetables which make up so much of Italian cuisine, as well as advertising posters from early 20th century Italy. A relatively small number of tables, a small bar, and the kitchen just off the dining area, make for a warm and intimate interior.

The Food
Pizza and pasta are, of course, the specialties. Each week, a different pizza, pasta dish, salad, and dessert are featured. A wide selection of regularly offered pizzas comes in personal, medium, and large sizes, with either white or wheat crust. Other usual menu items include calzones, raviolis, salads, soups, and appetizers.

The Drinks
Tomaato’s offers both wine and beer. In addition to the wine list, a “Portfolio of Limited Production Italian Wines” can be perused by those with deep pockets. Along with a number of domestic and foreign brews, there is a featured – and usually local - beer on tap. And of course, what beer goes better with Italian food than Peroni?

Gotta Try
The personal size pizzas are perfect for the individual diner who wants to be filled, not stuffed. The “Uncle Lou’s” pizza is particularly good for meat-lovers. Conversely the Three Mushroom Ravioli is an excellent (and sustaining) combination of mushrooms, spinach, and three cheeses, covered with either alfredo or marinara sauce. For dessert, the tiramisu and chocolate cake are both to be recommended.

Price Range
Pizzas range, depending on size and toppings, from $8 to $19 Pasta and calzones go from $9 to $15. Salads and appetizers from $4 to $9. The wine offerings are spendier than the beer. A glass of wine runs from $5 to $8, while bottles begin in the $20 range and go up from there. Beers range from $2.50 to $4, or $12 for a pitcher.
