The Soule Domain
99833 Stateline Road, Crystal Bay, Nevada
530·546·7529 · 775·833·0399
Next to Tahoe Biltmore

Located in historic Crystal Bay (think Rat Pack across the way at the Cal Neva) in one of North Lake Tahoe’s longest-standing buildings, Soule Domain takes the wooded charm of its log cabin quarters and mixes it with fusion flavors of contemporary American cuisine for a true taste of Lake Tahoe.

The Space
This is no imitation cabin, the real-deal log cabin was built in the 1930s and has been recognized as one of the North Shore’s historic treasures. But don’t let the old-world construction mislead, dining room manager Steve Soule has engineered a bright and airy dining room for groups gathering for an authentic Tahoe setting, or an intimate dinner for two lit by moonbeam and candlelight.

The Food
Chef/owner Charlie Soule has spent the past two decades refining his American cuisine and infusing it with influence from around the globe. Never one to turn his back on experimentation, the cuisine is sparked with Asian, French, Italian and even Mexican touches. Soule also tends to steak and seafood standards with the utmost attention to deliver crowd-pleasing entrees with consistency and care.

The Drinks
California wine aficionados will find a number of varietals from their favorite vineyards. Soule recommends pairings with every entree, and loves a couple wines so much they stand on their own - try the Laeticia Pinot Noir or the Swanson Napa Valley Pinot Grigio for “good quality with value,” says Soule.

Gotta Try
The Soule Domain is known around the 72-mile big blue for its lobster wontons steamed in Asian shitake broth, red chili and mustard dip. Or cruise across the Pacific for some fresh Hawaiian Ono grilled with ginger, jalapeño, peach teriyaki, cilantro and sesame, “It’s sweet and spicy,” says Soule.

Tidbit
Charlie Soule often checks in on his diners, especially upon request to let them in on stories of old (and new) Tahoe.

Price Range
Appetizers range from $6 to $11, dinner entrees from $16 to $30 (includes soup, vegetable and rice or potato).

Hours of Operation
Open 6 p.m. to close nightly. Please call for reservations.
