Spindleshanks 6873 North Lake Boulevard, Tahoe Vista, California 530·546·2191
The Space The cozy interior suggests a classic Tahoe log cabin, with knotty pine on the walls and a historic fireplace in the dining room. During the summer, Spindleshanks opens its covered and heated outdoor patio.
The Food A fusion of various American regions including the Southwest, East Coast, California and Hawaii shows through in entrees such as the blackened rib eye of beef, braised lamb shank, seared sea scallops and roasted butternut squash ravioli. A nice selection of appetizers, salads and sides provides options for smaller appetites.
The Drinks The recent addition of a full bar means patrons can now enjoy their favorite cocktail with dinner, but it’s the wine list — over 200 bottles, 50 half-bottles and 20 wines by the glass — that has had Tahoe World readers vote Spindleshanks “Best Wine List” for five years running.
Gotta Try The baked oysters bienzo with spinach, andouille sausage, crab and a cheese blend is an indulgent way to start a meal off right.
Price Range Salads and appetizers from $8 to $14, entrees from $12 to $35.
Hours of Operation The bar opens at 5 p.m. and dinner is served at 5:30 p.m. daily.
