Lanza’s Restaurant 7739 North Lake Boulevard, Kings Beach, California 530·546·2434
The Space Lanza’s has one main dining area and a large bar. The interior maintains a traditional Italian feel with knotty pine on the walls and red checker tablecloths on every table.
The Food The dishes are big, tasty and filling, with tomato sauce, pasta, cheese and chicken being the main ingredients - “Traditional Italian rib stickin’ comfort food,” according to Manager Justin Garcia. Specialties include Chicken Piccata, Stuffed Lumaconi, Chicken Parmesan, Lasagna and Calamari, and all entrees come with choice of soup or salad and bread.
The Drinks The Lanza’s bar has a very local feel and a good selection of California and Italian wines, beers, and (surprisingly for an Italian place) tequila. For something different, try the homemade “Lanza’s Lemonade,” a refreshing mix of vodka and lemonade with a floater of raspberry liquor.
Gotta Try The Chicken Piccata in a lemon, butter, caper sauce, is a locals’ favorite. Be sure to try Lanza’s homemade salad dressing - a creamy Italian which tastes great with gorgonzola.
Tidbit Lanza’s does not take reservations but welcomes families on a first come, first serve basis.
Price Range Entrées range from $12 to $19.
Hours of Operation Bar opens at 4:30 p.m., dinner served from 5 to 10 p.m. daily.
