Conrad’s Steaks, Chops & Seafood Inside the Tahoe Biltmore 5 State Highway 28, Crystal Bay, Nevada 775·833·6748 www.tahoebiltmore.com
After being open for four years, Conrad’s inside the Tahoe Biltmore in Crystal Bay is changing its menu. The warm, comfortable and elegant dining spot is dropping its barbecue items and transforming itself to Conrad’s Steaks, Chops and Seafood. In addition to a revamped menu, Conrad’s new Maitre D’, Elizabeth Brossman, now brings her years of experience and expertise to the Biltmore’s fine dining restaurant.
The Space Soft colors and plenty of brick soak up the subdued lighting in the comfortable dining room while a large gas fireplace warms the air, making Conrad’s the perfect spot for those meals where making an impression counts.
The Food Start off with the seared ahi tuna salad, with cabbage slaw and wasabi and ponzu dressing. Move along to a 22 oz. porterhouse, the New Zealand rack of lamb or one of many delicious seafood options including Alaskan lobster tail, one pound of Alaskan king crab legs or the seafood bouillabaisse - made with shrimp, scallops, mussels and halibut in a hearty saffron and white wine broth.
The Drinks Conrad’s has an excellent wine list, with selections from Goth, Frog’s Leap, Frei Brothers, Silverado, Rex Hill and Coppola as well as many tasty dessert wines such as a Portuguese Smith Woodhouse port.
Gotta Try The steak and lobster dinner, at $24.95, is probably the best deal around. Also try the seafood bouillabaisse. Or for dessert try the Bananas Foster or Cherries Jubilee, both flamed tableside.
Tidbit Conrad’s offers an excellent two-for-one deal - buy two dinners and only pay for the one of greater value. Offered from 5 to 6 p.m.
Price Range Appetizers from $3 to $8 and dinner entrées from $11 to $25.
Hours of Operation Open Tuesday through Sunday at 5 p.m.
