Local art gallery, Artists At Lake Tahoe, welcomes the work of Louise Noel Howes, a silk artist in Gardnerville, Nev. Louise seeks to capture the big Nevada skies, the rainbow of the Sierra mountains and the huge palette of summer wildflowers in her silk paintings. Incredible color and reflected brilliance in her paintings engage the eye and connect to the heart.

Howes brings her background in design and fiber arts, mixes it with her love of whimsy and color, and lets the silk and dyes mesh in vibrant abandon. Her designs are drawn from her love of the life on the Eastern slope of the Sierras, and are brimming with the excitement of a world seen through hopeful eyes.

Artists at Lake Tahoe (formerly Tahoe Quilts) features artwork of eleven local artists. Owner Karen Colbert’s motto, “Tahoe Art Made in Tahoe," showcases original artwork produced only at Lake Tahoe. Watercolor paintings, fabric art, jewelry, photography, pottery, gourds and art in wood are a few of the artistic mediums represented in the gallery.

Artists at Lake Tahoe is located at 923 Tahoe Boulevard in the US Bank building, Highway 28 across from Raley’s Shopping center in Incline Village. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekends by appointment; or call (775) 833-0637.
