I often ask myself what makes a good live show.
Is it the music, the crowd, the vibe, the location?
Surely it is a mix of all those things. When I popped my head into the Truckee Amphitheater on Saturday night, I was a bit unsure at first glance. There was a lot of empty space. It appeared as if many Tahoans had other plans for the night.
Front man and original Itals singer, Keith Porter brings reggae straight from the streets of Kingston to Truckee Amphitheater on Saturday night.
But despite all of the empty space with every step, the bass thumped a bit louder and those fine reggae ‘riddims’ rang through the Truckee Regional Park.
Original lead man, Keith Porter and the Itals brought it, in full Jamaica reggae fashion to the dedicated fans that stuck it out till the park closed its gates. The Itals who have toured the globe bringing their catchy reggae music along with them were completely unfazed by the crowd. They kept playing even when there curfew expired. For those fortunate enough to have made the show, it was like having your favorite reggae band in your backyard.
