The Tahoe Biltmore presents the annual IGS Car Show August 6 through 10. Come see Tahoe’s cool answer to the steamy days and nights of the Hot August Nights Car Shows. Stop by the vendor booths, hear 50s music, check out the poker runs, and check out more than 150 cars and trucks on display.
IGS Good Samaritans’ Safe Ride charity (IGS provides safe rides for folks so they don’t drink and drive) is putting on this annual event. For more information, call (800) Biltmore. Schedule of events: Wednesday, Aug. 6 • Vendor set up and car show registration in the Tahoe Biltmore parking lot will take place from 3 to 6:30 p.m. • Cool car Wednesday Cruise at the Tahoe Biltmore Car Show Area. Long distance award will be presented from 6 to 8 p.m.
• Entertainment extraordinaire with Fabrizio live in the Casino from 7 to 11 p.m. Hear live piano music and singing in the casino while you hit the slots.
Thursday, Aug. 7 • Dark car show, vendor sales, swap meet and craft fair at 9 a.m. • Live music from Clear Blue 22 inside the Breeze. This country rock trio from the “Biggest little city” found a dedicated following after touring in the casino and festival circuit. Their chemistry was irresistible when the power of Jasmine West’s vocals paired with the talent of Don Simpson and Paul Reyes. They can lure any one onto the dance floor with their combination of honky tonk and rock. Check out this high energy group live at the Tahoe Biltmore. Show starts at 9:30 p.m. • $500 Sizzling Shootout Video Poker Tournament and happy hour every Thursday. Registration is from 5 to 6:45 p.m., tournament begins at 7 p.m. (until approximately 9 p.m.) See Club Biltmore for rules and details. Must be a Club Biltmore member to participate.
Friday, Aug. 8 • Dark car show, vendor sales, swap meet and craft fair starting at 9 a.m. • The New Indifferents will perform live in the Breeze. The Tahoe City based rock band bust out tunes like “Rasta” and “Crazy for You” that will lure you to the dance floor. Their catchy music is perfect to help you unwind and relax.
Saturday, Aug. 9 • Car show registration will take place from 8 a.m. to noon. • Car show, vendor sales, swap meet, and craft fair will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. • All cars on display for judging from noon to 4 p.m. • Who Dunnit tribute band has been touted as one of the most faithful cover bands ever. They masterfully recreate the sounds of the classic rock band The Who. The band is made up of the most dedicated and talented musicians from northern California. The techniques of Pete Townshend were tirelessly researched and practiced so that the sounds of the band leader are too difficult to tell the originals from the replicas. Together, the foursome shares their love for the music of the classic band. This tribute band has already received rave reviews for their performances.
Sunday, Aug. 10 • Car show, vendor sales, swap meet, and craft fair 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. • Awards and Trophies presented to the Best of the Best at noon.
