You ever feel like you are on a “Highway to the Dangerzone?”
I hadn’t either. I’d always felt like my life was on the slowboat to China. Little did I know, that was all about to change.
As it turns out I got a call to photograph one of the ‘80s favorite heartthrobs and Footloose guru, Kenny Loggins.
Loggins, back by popular demand, brought his easy-listening-yet-sometimes-bluesy style to the well manicured fairways of Old Greenwood this past Saturday. When this guy was rockin'’ it out in his heyday I was still a little chap a bit too shy to truly bust a move on the da nce floor.
Once I took Old Greenwood’s exit off I-80, I couldn’t help but notice Kenny’s immense impact on rock ‘n roll. There were more cars and people than I believed lived in Tahoe. Lawn chairs, coolers and families crossed the road in hundreds. All said and done, a few thousand people had come out to join Loggins on a beautiful Tahoe Saturday afternoon.
Looking around the crowd I saw Truckee folks smiling, singing every word and dancing their hearts out. He busted out all his hits in a thunderous encore which boasted crowd favorites, “I’m All Right,” “Footloose,” and of course “Highway to The Dangerzone.”
