Wednesday, May 14
•  “A New Home for Toby.” Local author Jean Eick, in honor of Children’s Book Week, will be at Incline Village Library from 4 to 5 p.m. Jean Eick has written two new books, “A New Home for Toby” and “Toby's Activity Book.” Eick will read from the first book and then lead activities from the second one. The event is for ages K-2nd grade.  For more information, call (775) 832-4130.

•  Singing Broadway. Sierra Nevada College Concert Choir Sings Broadway at 7:30 p.m. at Patterson Hall, located on the campus of Sierra Nevada College. The choir will be singing excerpts from three Broadway musicals: “The Lion King,” “Fiddler on the Roof” and “The King and I.” Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 kids under 12 and will be sold at the door.

Thursday, May 15
•  Nevada Bicycle and Pedestrian Conference. The Nevada Bicycle and Pedestrian Conference will be held Thursday, May 15 and Friday, May 16 at MontBleu Casino, in Stateline. For more information, call (775) 888-7433.

•  Tribute to Stevie Wonder. The North Tahoe High School Jazz Ensemble, an eighteen piece music ensemble, presents Songs in the Key of Life: A Musical Tribute to the artist, Stevie Wonder. They will perform in the Crown Room at 7:30 p.m. The show is for all ages. Tickets are $15, $10 for students and are available at New Moon, Mad About Music and Between the Notes. This concert/dance benefits the musicians as they tour to San Francisco to play music at elementary schools, assisted living homes and a performance Union Square.

Friday, May 16
•  Trail Workshop. The third-annual Trail Building and Crew Leader Training, will take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday, May 16-18 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will provide the knowledge to help build and maintain Tahoe-area pedestrian and motorized trails. The trail workshop’s $65 registration fee includes instruction, park lodging, food, training materials and transportation to class sites. The workshop will be held at Galena Creek Park, and is sponsored by the Tahoe Rim Trail Association. For more information, visit www.tahoerimtrail.org.

•  Youth Service Symposium. SWEP and TTREC present the 3rd Annual Youth Service Symposium "What on Earth are YOUth Doing?” from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at North Tahoe Middle School. For more information, visit www.4swep.org or call (530) 582-2584.
