Squaw Valley sushi restaurant Mamasake held its Snowfest-inspired Extreme Food Challenge on Friday, March 7. A field of 11 contestants fought for prizes by being the first to stomach a variety of international delicacies.
The delicacies in the six-round contest were: baby octopus, squid ink ravioli, fried chicken feet, poached monkfish liver, tiny shrimp pate with green mango, and duck fetus eggs.
The fifth round’s gut wrenching tiny shrimp pate knocked out most competitors but six iron stomachs made it to the duck eggs of the final round.
When the duck fetuses were swallowed, Devon Anderson took the win with Zac Majors in second and Thomas Angelone in third.
