SnowFest! packs hundreds of hours of fun into the next week and a half. Read this guide for the overview, then check out the events in more depth throughout the rest of the website.

Lakeside Gallery SnowFest! Retrospective & Art Exhibit 27 years is a very long time and much of the SnowFest! and Snow Festival Memorabilia have been lost and/or destroyed. Come join us for the fun and surprises of found items, pictures of your friends when they were much younger and goodness knows what we might find out you! SnowFest! Parade - Sponsored by Tahoe City Downtown Association See Tahoe’s wackiest and wildest entries in the 2008 Winter Wonderland Snowfest! Tails by the Lake Doggie Agility Course Head to Squaw Valley and watch the Doggie Agility Race, featuring K9 competitors on an agility course made of snow. Your dog will maneuver through a line of fire hydrants made of snow. Next he’ll run through a tunnel of snow, jump bone shaped hurdles and finish up over a snow made ramp. The agility course is nothing like you have ever seen! Prizes awarded to 1st, 2nd, & 3rd places. Proceeds to benefit the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe. River Ranch Snow Sculpture Contest The final event of the festival, and one of the best. Twelve invited teams build snow sculptures and are judged for creativity, originality, and sculpting skills. Prizes are awarded. Live music, huge raffle, and plenty of food and drink finish out the event.

California State Parks - Animals in Winter - Jr. Ranger Program Where do animals go when the snow comes? How do they survive? Meet Ranger Heidi Doyle at the Sugar Pine Park office for an easy snowshoe hike out into the woods to look for animal tracks and duscuss the ecological adaptations of winter animal life. Tahoe Donner Association ‘I-dida-Run’ This Donner Party-themed dog pull race will pit dogs against dogs while pulling covered wagon sleds over a course.
