Feb. 29, 6:30 p.m.
Squaw Valley USA
Squaw Valley USA kicks off North Lake Tahoe’s beloved SnowFest! for the 27th year in grand style with the Opening Night Celebration and Fireworks. This annual tradition and family favorite features a torchlight parade, fireworks and opening night parties featuring Space Cowboys and Truckee Tribe in the Olympic Plaza. Starting things off at 6:30 p.m. on the deck in front of Squaw’s KT-22 chairlift, the SnowFest! Queen will be coronated. Then Squaw Valley lights up the sky with fireworks, a torchlight parade and rockin’ music to officially open the 27th annual SnowFest! The official opening night celebration begins at 7:30 p.m. on Squaw Valley USA’s lower mountain. Squaw Valley Ski School descends the slopes of KT-22/Exhibition in a picturesque torchlight parade, followed by a spectacular fireworks show. The Fireworks display is presented by the Squaw Valley Business Association and Squaw Valley USA.
