The Space Located alongside Porters Sports in Incline Village, Los Mariachis Taqueria is a homely, comfortable establishment. Flanking a small, one-aisle grocery store, the restaurant features one large-screen T.V. which is usually tuned to sports, from Mexican soccer to American football. It is just the kind of place that is great to relax, talk to friends and take in a small-town restaurant atmosphere.
The Food Los Mariachis features authentic Mexican food in the most traditional sense. Manager and cook Able Sanchez said the restaurant only uses fresh ingredients, nothing frozen. Also, many of the ingredients are imported straight from Mexico and cooked in a way that is exactly what you find in Mexico City, Sanchez’s hometown. He recommended the traditional enchiladas as his favorite dish, which is flanked by refried beans, avocado and Mexican rice. Los Mariachis also offers a special Chili Rellenos dish on Fridays.
The Drinks While Los Mariachis offers a standard selection of beer (American and Mexican) and soda, the orchatas are not to be missed. A cold milk drink mixed with rice water, vanilla, sugar, cinnamon and a few other ingredients, it’s a must.
Gotta Try For the adventurous, try the pescada frito, or fried fish. It is served with lime, rice, beans and other veggies. For the more standard palate, try out the enchiladas. Make sure to try the green salsa with whatever you eat.
Tidbit Make sure to get in Fridays for the Chili Rellenos special. A different special is offered every day. If you’re looking to eat with a full house, come in at lunchtime, the place is packed. If a more relaxed setting fits you better, try to get in at dinnertime.
Price Range Dishes start at about $2 and run up to just under $10.
Hours of Operation Los Mariachis is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Location 889 Tahoe Blvd., Incline Village, Nevada, located next door to Porters Sports.
