The Space
The Nouveau Shakespearean themed interior of the PlumpJack Café elicits a cozy and contemporary atmosphere highlighted by rich earth tones and unique metal work. The café is located about a snowball throw away from the Squaw Valley cable car building, making it an ideal midday or après ski stop. After finishing a PlumpJack martini by the copper cauldron fireplace you’ll surely be warm enough to brave the weather on the slopes.

The Food
PlumpJack’s menu features innovative California Mediterranean cuisine anchored by bar menu staples such as the Balboa burger and a fresh fish of the day in the dining room. Accomplished Executive Chef Flynt Payne designed the winter menu to be hearty and welcoming with an emphasis on regionally grown seasonal produce and tender meats. Both the dinner and bar menus change about once a month.

The Drinks
The PlumpJack’s wine list is not only extraordinary, but well organized. Flipping through the pages you’ll find special listings such as ‘Think Green, Drink Green’ wines that are either organic, biodynamic, or sustainably farmed. Wine Spectator recently awarded PlumpJack a “Best Of” award of excellence.

Gotta Try
The Ahi Tartare cones are absolutely delightful and a signature PlumpJack first course. Find them in the menu of both the bar and the dining room. If you’re hitting the bar for a slopeside lunch, you can’t go wrong with the PlumpJack Reuben — a Gruyere and Guinness Sauerkraut spin on the classic corned beef sandwich.

Tidbit
Don’t miss out on the café’s Wine Inspired Dinner nights. On February 26 and March 11, PlumpJacks will provide one-on-one table service and discussion with representatives from featured wineries. Tuesday, Feb.26 - Miner Family Vineyards and Tuesday, March 11 - Siduri

Price Range
Menu items in both the bar and café are served a la carte. First courses range from $8 to $15 and second courses range from $12 to $40

Hours of Operation
The dining room is open 5:30 to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 5 to 10 p.m. Friday through Sunday. The bar is open 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.
