Jan. 22 Comedians Brian Malow, Gulden and Ryan Wingfield at Crown Room
Mark your calendars for a Tuesday, Jan. 22 Tahoe Comedy North show at the Crystal Bay Casino’s Crown Room featuring headliner Brian Malow, with Gulden and host Ryan Wingfield. Tickets are $10 in advance, and $15 the day of the show. For tickets call (775) 833-6333 or visit crystalbaycasino.com. Doors open at 7 p.m., show starts at 8 p.m.
Brian Malow Brian Malow began his stand up career in Austin, Texas, while working toward a Masters in Television Production. A 10-year veteran of the comedy club circuit, he has performed in nearly 40 states (and has shown no interest in the others). He has been featured in such diverse places as the Austin Chronicle, Cat Fancy magazine, and the Arts & Entertainment Network (you know, those cable television showcases that effectively killed the public’s interest in stand up?).
A life-long fan of science and science fiction, Brian has developed a brand of intelligent, imaginative comedy that takes delight in playful use of language and is shot-through with a healthy dose of science references. His clean, energetic style has also made him a favorite at colleges and for corporate clients such as Dell, Apple, Honeywell, Texaco and 3M.
In 1991, the astronauts aboard the space shuttle mission STS-44, while in orbit around the Earth, listened to a recording of his Neil Armstrong routine. And they laughed.
Gulden Gulden was born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey. Her parents sent her to America for higher education. She completed her BS and MS degrees in the University of Rhode Island and she started her PhD in the University of Connecticut. According to her father when she was studying for her doctoral degree she has lost her mind because she became “the only female comedian from The Middle East, still alive!” She quickly became a paid regular in The Comedy Store, The Laugh Factory and in The Ice House. She also works regularly for Catch a Rising Star and performs in the casinos and colleges. Recently she taped a sketch show called “Just Kickin’ It” and was in a movie called “Net 2.0.” She was a lead in a sitcom pilot called “Keep ‘em Up” and has been on the “Leeza Talk Show” and the “Drew Carey Show.” Gulden lives in L.A. as a new American citizen.
Tickets are also at theses outlets: CB’s Pizza, Noah’s Video, Incline Cleaners, New Moon Natural Foods in Tahoe City and Truckee. For a complete schedule, visit tahoecomedynorth.com
