Action-packed music weekend at Bar of America Bar of America kicks off its action packed weekend of music Thursday, Dec. 6 with a performance by Dan Anderson followed by the Mark Sexton Band on Friday, Dec. 7; Truckee Tribe on Saturday, Dec. 8 and a fundraising event with music from Frame of Mind and Truckee Tribe on Sunday, Dec. 9.
Dec. 6: Dan Anderson resides in South Lake Tahoe where he has developed a reputation in the local music scene as a dynamic performer, using his vibrant and soulful voice and acoustic guitar to captivate audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
Dec. 7: The Mark Sexton Band has hard-hitting rhythms, melodic grooves and soulful vocals. The members bring different musical styles, creating their own true raw sound, a unique blend of all-acoustic rock, reggae, funk, pop, jazz and a hint of world beat.
Dec. 8: Truckee Tribe will play Saturday night with a forecast to fill the house. Locals and tourists alike have grooved to the dubbed out sound created by one of the areas top acts. Together they create an engaging vibe, incorporating multiple genres of music into reggae beats.
Dec. 9: Truckee Tribe will play again Sunday night along with Frame of Mind, for a Peru Earthquake Disaster fundraising event from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tickets are a $25 donation and proceeds will go to the reconstruction of the 8.0 magnitude earthquake in Peru. Dinner is include. The fundraising event is hosted by local organization, Burners without Boarders.

The Hacienda hosts annual Pray For Snow Party The Hacienda de la Sierra in Incline Village is hosting it’s 21st annual “Bring On The Snow” party on Friday, Dec. 7. The winter season kick off party is a local tradition full of merriment and good cheer. There will be live music and dancing to the sounds of Jo Mama along with a Diamond Peak season pass giveaway. Also on tap are the famous Lift op relay race and a frozen wet T-shirt contest. Great raffle prizes will be given away all night long from Village Ski Loft, Diamond Peak, Alpine Meadows and Northstar. The party starts at 7 p.m. at 931 Tahoe Blvd. in Incline Village. Frame of Mind at Sawtooth Ridge Café Sawtooth Ridge Café in Tahoe City hosts the Frame of Mind concert on Friday, Dec. 7 at 9 p.m. Emerging from the beaches of southern California, migrating to the mountains of central Idaho, now living in Reno, Nev., Frame of Mind continues their perpetual tour of the western U.S. They are a band, whose very limits cannot be defined — infusing elements from a wide variety of styles including: funk, rock, reggae, Latin, fusion, psychedelic, blues and more. The unique combination makes for a danceable live music experience that is widely dynamic and completely diverse.

Jason Ricci and New Blood Jason Ricci and New Blood mix blues, rock, funk, eastern and jazz into a seamless cohesion both eclectic and idiosyncratic while always avoiding clichés and histrionics. Jason Ricci & New Blood will play a free show at the Crystal Bay Casino’s Red Room on both Friday and Saturday night at 10 p.m.
‘Oliver!’ rings in holidays at The Resort The Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival and the Nevada Shakespeare Company, presents “Oliver!” on Sunday, Dec. 9. Boasting a cast of 60 local youth, marking a first in its first off-season performance for the holidays. Two performances are scheduled at the Resort at Squaw Creek including an 11 a.m. matinee and an 8 p.m. evening performance on Dec. 9.

Heart and soul of ‘Jibe’ at Blue Agave You’ve seen them rock’n the big stage in the Crystal Bay Casino’s Crown Room, or you may remember the good ol’ days at Blue — either way be sure not to miss this very special intimate acoustic performance with members of one of Reno and Tahoe’s hottest live music acts, Sol’ Jibe.
Sol’ Jibe’s soulful, high-energy shows fuse rock, roots, flamenco, Latin music, jazz and world rhythms are driven by the expressive vocals and violin of Tim Snider and the passionate guitar stylings of Milton Merlos. Snider and Merlos first met in 1998 in a high school talent show and later trekked to southern Spain to study music with the Gypsies. The rest is history.
