Wednesday, Dec. 5 • Celebrate the holidays with a local’s party every Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Resort at Squaw Creek. Music, complimentary hot chocolate and cookies and ice skating. Coldwell Banker Incline Village Realty, United States Marine Corps Reserve of Reno and the Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation will be sponsoring the Toys for Tots campaign with an annual party from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Chateau at the Mountain Golf Course in Incline Village. The entrance fee is one new un-wrapped toy. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be present, along with music, dancing and local restaurants serving up their specialties. The Tahoe Environmental Research Center presents “The collapse of California’s water system: from disasters to decisions”with professor Jay Lund of UC Davis. Thursday, Dec. 6 • “The Odd Couple.” Truckee High School Drama Club proudly presents Neil Simon’s “The Odd Couple” at Truckee High Auditorium through Dec. 9. InnerRhythms Dance Theatre presents a Holiday Gift of Inner Peace and Global Rhythms at 7 p.m. in the lodge at Alpine Meadows Ski Resort. Friday, Dec. 7 • Bring on the Snow party. The Hacienda de la Sierra is hosting it’s 21st annual “Bring On The Snow” party starting at 7 p.m. There will be live music and dancing with the sounds of Jo Mama and a Diamond Peak season pass giveaway. Great raffle prizes will be given away all night long from Village Ski Loft, Diamond Peak, Alpine Meadows and Northstar. The Hacienda is located at 931 Tahoe Blvd. in Incline Village. The merchants at the Boatworks Mall will host an evening of holiday cheer from 5 to 8 p.m. Complimentary wine, appetizers and music, plus holiday shopping discounts. Bring a food donation for Project MANA to receive your holiday discount. • The Christmas Tree Village presents its annual Holiday mixer to thank the community starting at 7 p.m. located at 868 Tahoe Blvd. in Incline Village. Saturday, Dec. 8 • Learn to ski or ride. North Lake Tahoe ski resorts offer beginner ski and ride packages for just $25 that includes an all-day beginner lift ticket, group lesson and gear rental. Sunday, Dec. 9 • Peru Earthquake Disaster Fundraiser. Burners without Boarders, a local organization, is hosting a Peru Earthquake Disaster Fundraiser. All proceeds from the event will go directly to the reconstruction of the 8.0 magnitude earthquake on Aug. 15 in the southern coastal region of Peru. The event will be held at Bar of America in Truckee starting at 6 p.m. Dinner will be served from 6:30 to 8 p.m. with live music all night from local bands Frame of Mind and Truckee Tribe. Tickets can be purchased with a $25 donation. Monday, Dec. 10 • Salsa dancing. OB’s Pub and Restaurant in downtown Truckee presents a free salsa dance party hosted by Mountain Salsa Dance every Monday. A short introductory salsa lesson will be held at 7 p.m. before the dance floor is opened up. Dancing will go until 9 p.m. • Sol y Lago Anniversary. Sol y Lago invites the community to celebrate its 2 year anniversary from 4:30 p.m. to close. The restaurant features a new menu, live entertainment and all night food and drink specials.
