. We prefer JPEGs at 300 dpi (but if that makes no sense to you, just don’t edit the photos in any way before sending them).
Prints can also be dropped off at the Tahoe World office in Tahoe City (next to Pete N Peters).
Please limit submissions to three photos per person. All photos must be your original work and by submitting them you are giving the Tahoe World permission to publish any submissions in the Tahoe World.
Please include your name, phone number, and mailing address with all photos submitted so we may contact you if you win.

Or, hone your photography skills with an expert in our own backyard:
On Friday evening, Oct. 12, through Sunday, Oct. 14, Ice Lakes Lodge at Royal Gorge and GateWay Mountain Center are presenting a wilderness photography workshop titled “Autumn Photography at Donner Summit: Finding Personal Vision” with expert photographer Claude Fiddler.
The crest of the High Sierra will be alive with fall color and Claude Fiddler will guide participants through the grand and intimate landscape, helping each participant develop their personal photographic vision. All camera formats are welcome. The workshop encourages all photographic ability levels, from beginner to professional.
Claude Fiddler has long been recognized as one of the hardmen of High Sierra climbing. Equally well known is his use of the 4x5 large format medium in the highest wilderness of the Sierra. His photographs speak eloquently of his search for the ephemeral concepts of mood and lighting.
Claude is the author of five critically acclaimed books: “Climbing California’s High Sierra,” “The High Sierra: Wilderness of Light,” “A Vast and Ancient Wilderness: Images of the Great Basin,” and “Yosemite Once Removed: Portraits of the Backcountry.” To see Claude Fiddler’s work, go to www.wildernesslight.com For more information and to register, contact GateWay Mountain Center at (530) 205-6245 or e-mail
