Hammers, drills, cranes, planes, hands, blaring sun, dust, high winds and sand. What has for eons existed as a dried-out lake-bed is being transformed into an artistic mecca. Hundreds of volunteers and paid hands have come out from all over America and some have even come from abroad to transform what is known to “Burners” as “The Playa” into Nevada’s eighth largest city and one that is built from the ground up in just a a matter of weeks.
