The Space
Swiss Lakewood Grill operates under a new owner in one of the oldest buildings on Tahoe’s “magical West Shore.” More than a dozen patio tables and chairs decorate the lawn with an accompanying lounge area located conveniently near the gazebo-bar — the restaurant is solely outdoor seating for the summer months. The feel is rustic and spacious, a perfect way to enjoy homemade barbecue without worrying about other diners cramping your style.

The Food
If you like barbecue, this is the place for you. The menu is limited in size, but the five or so smoked entrees carry the weight. For lighter fare, there are several green plates including a grape and gorgonzola salad or the classic Caesar. And for those with heartier appetites, the hardest part will be deciding between a rack of sweet and spicy ribs or a smoked tri-tip sandwich on a fresh Kaiser roll. Plus you get your choice of two side dishes, including coleslaw, American-style potato salad, baked beans, macaroni salad or sea salt potato chips.

The Drinks
The outdoor gazebo-bar invites guests to partake in libations of various sorts including specialty cocktails and a handful of bottled beers. Water, lemonade and sodas also available.

Gotta Try
Swiss Lakewood boasts the smoked Rocky Jr. Chicken entree as their signature dish. And remember, all the entrees come with two traditional sides of your choice, so don’t worry about going hungry.

Tidbit
Because Swiss Lakewood only serves food on the patio, if you’re cold-blooded make sure to plan on eating early. Plus it gives you more time to digest that full rack of ribs before hitting the town — or the hay. If you’re one of those people who has enough self control to not clean your plate, ask for a to-go box and bring home half of your lunch or dinner and save it for another delicious meal.

Price Range
Not too bad, entrees range from $12 to $22

Hours of Operation
Open for lunch and dinners Thursday through Saturday and for lunch Sundays

5055 West Lake Boulevard, Homewood, CA 96141
