Whether you’re checking out Lake Tahoe’s less-traveled beaches or enjoying a mellow day on Donner Lake, there are lots of places to explore by watercraft in the Tahoe-Truckee area. The information on this page will get you and your crew out on the water.

Seeking a repair on your personal boat or watercraft, need some gas, a pump-out station, a buoy to rent, boat storage, a rental, to purchase a craft or merely a place to launch? Where to Launch
If you’ve come to Tahoe or Truckee with a boat in tow, here are some places to begin your journey on the area’s waterways.

Public Boat ramps

• Donner Lake, CA resident $7 all day/$50 season pass, out-of-state all day $10/ season pass $100, (530) 582-7720

• Kings Beach, $10 launch fee, $10 parking fee, (530) 546-4212

• Meek’s Bay Marina, $25 round-trip/$300 season pass, FREE for Meek’s Bay Resort campers

• Obexer’s Boat Company, deep launch ramp, $12 one-way/$20 round-trip/$200 season pass

• Prosser Reservoir, 2 locations, FREE, (530) 587-3558

• Sand Harbor State Park, $15 all day/$175 season pass, (775) 831-0494

• Stampede Reservoir, $4 weekends and holidays/$30 season pass, (530) 587-3558

Learn to waterski and wakeboard
• Shred the open waters of the Tahoe-Truckee area on wakeboard or waterskis. It might be a bit cold, so if you have a wet suit, be sure to bring it along.
