As winter winds down, it’s time to start thinking about summer. What better way to kick off the summer than by winning a brand-new 2006 MasterCraft X-30 Luxury Sport Boat?

Tahoe Community Nursery School (TCNS) and Cope & McPhetres Marine teamed up to bring this incredible offer to the public, with a stunning new luxury MasterCraft Sport Boat as the grand prize. Raffle tickets are only $100 each, and can be purchased from any TCNS parent, or by calling the school.

The MasterCraft X-30, retailing at approximately $70,000, is 22’8”, and is designed for the active boater, with a wakeboard tower, ballast tanks, bimini top, and a 350-horsepower fuel-injection V-8 engine. In addition, the open bow, stereo CD player and cruise control mean added fun for the whole family.

“This is a fabulous opportunity to get into a brand-new luxury sport boat at a fraction of the retail cost,” said Laura Stout, TCNS director. Funds received from this event help supplement the school’s low tuition rates and go towards books, art supplies, indoor and outdoor playground equipment, maintenance, snow removal, salaries and other operating costs.

TCNS also hosts the Towne Picnic, an outdoor event featuring fun, games, treats—even a pie-baking contest. The Towne Picnic kicks off the summer season on Saturday, June 2, from 11am to 3pm, at Commons Beach in Tahoe City. Boat raffle tickets will be on sale through 2:30pm on this day, at which time the winning ticket for the boat—and other prizes including gift certificates for lodging and restaurants—will be drawn.

For over 40 years Tahoe Community Nursery School has been the beginning foundation for a lifetime of achievement for its graduates. Founded in 1965, Tahoe Community Nursery School has continued its long tradition of commitment to Tahoe’s children by giving them every opportunity possible to learn through play, having fun and making new friends along the way. From the magical outdoor playground complete with running water for making homemade mud-pies to role playing and dressing up as firemen, princesses or doctors, the school presents this fundraiser in order to help continue the legacy of an outstanding and affordable community preschool open to anyone who wishes to attend.

The school’s goal is to sell at least 700 tickets. Raffle will be held June 2 at the Towne Picnic at Commons Beach in Tahoe City. For more information, please call 530-583‑3331 or see www.tahoeschool.com.
