Big Blue Adventure Series brings sprint and full-day adventure races to Half Moon Bay |

The Pacific Ocean is a beacon for the Big Blue Adventure Series and the popular adventure races find a fitting home in Half Moon Bay, Calif. on July 29.
In addition to the original six to 12 hour competition, a sprint race will be available to beginner athletes, or those refreshing their skills. Sprint races have finishing times of two to four hours. Both competitions include kayaking on the Pacific, trail running/hiking and mountain biking through various terrain, special tests and navigation.
“This is a dream course for adventure racers,” Todd Jackson, president of Seventh Wave Productions and series producer, said. “The terrain is challenging and quite different from our other venues and incomparably beautiful.”
Pre-race clinics are available free to athletes Friday, July 28. The Ocean Blue Sprint race is open to two-person teams, coed, all male or all female. The six to 12 hour event is open to teams of two, three or four all male, all female, or coed, as well as individuals. Teams can register through July 27, with late fees applying after July 21.

The Big Blue Adventure Series, produced and developed by Seventh Wave Productions, has grown in popularity and success since its inception in 2001 and now includes 12 competitions, including 24-hour formats, sprint races and an off-road triathlon.
