The Space
The sun-soaked breakfast and lunch cafe, Java, Juice, Wrap and Bagel, sits smack dab in the middle of Tahoe City. A bunch of tables and umbrellas are nestled behind the sidewalk and look across the street to Commons Beach.

This to-go joint is the perfect place to bask in the sunlight, read the paper and drink a cup of Joe with your breakfast bagel. Browsing the Tahoe City stretch in the afternoon? Take a break from your walk to enjoy the scene with one of Java Juice’s refreshing smoothies.

The Food
The name says it all — Java, Juice, Wrap and Bagel. As in coffee drinks — both blended and hot — fresh squeezed juices, lunchtime wraps and a good ol’ selection of bagels and schmears. But don’t be fooled by the no-nonsense name. Each of their four specialties comes with a diverse array of choices. For example, orange juice, carrot juice or a veggie-combo juice? Hmmm.

A California Turkey wrap with avocado, lettuce, tomato and a sweet-n-spice mustard sauce, or a Thai Chicken wrap with spinach, brown rice and a spicy Thai peanut sauce? Be ready to stand in front of their menu for awhile debating between several delicious choices.

Gotta Try
A smoothie. Have I mentioned their smoothies? Try their Carrot Cake Smoothie with freshly-squeezed carrot juice, soy milk, mango or papaya, bananas, pecans, dates and a dash of cinnamon. Want something a little more purple? The Roxyberry smoothie is a popular one with strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, guava and raspberry sherbert.
Or go green and healthy  with the Yoda smoothie, which features wheatgrass with bananas, apples, lime, ice and spirulina — a nutrient-rich super greens powder.

Tidbit
They use flatbread for all of their wraps and they’re one of the only places in town that offers shots of wheatgrass.

Hours of operation
6:30 a.m. to whenever the flow of business dies down. In the off-season, they usually close around 2 or 3 p.m., and in the summers, they often stay open ‘till 6 or 7 p.m..

Location
Right off the main drag in Tahoe City at 521 North Lake Boulevard.
