Easter Sunday Celebrations
Beacon & Eggs Beacon Search Contest Combine an Easter egg hunt with an avalanche beacon search practice session, and the result is the “Beacon & Eggs,” beacon search contest at Alpine Meadows Ski Resort on Sunday, March 23. Avalanche beacons will be buried in a one-acre area in at Alpine Meadows. Competitors will proceed to the buried backpacks using their beacons in “search” mode. Competitors work individually or in teams (up to four people), sharing the prizes for recovering the beacon. Competitors redeem a found beacon for incredible prizes from Porter’s Tahoe, The Backcountry, Alpenglow, Mountain Hardware, Cosmo’s Custom Footwerks and the Truckee Sports Exchange. The individual winner of the Alpine Meadows Beacon & Eggs contest will win a 2008 Alpine Meadows Ski Pass.
Free registration is at the Beacon & Eggs tent near the top of Subway Chair Lift (next to the base lodge) from 9 to 11 a.m. The Le Mans-style start is at noon near the top of the Subway beginner lift, adjacent to the base lodge. Raffle tickets will also be sold, and ticket holders will win other great outdoor products and lift tickets. Competitors must provide their own beacons, probes, and shovels. Squaw Valley Easter Celebrations at the Village at Squaw Valley Squaw Valley will host an Easter Egg Hunt on the mountain and in the village from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Easter Sunday. This year the annual egg hunt is planned to be better than ever because the Easter Bunny has decided to be a lot more generous with the goodies hidden in the eggs this year. The Easter Bunny will even have a few special Easter Eggs for all of the little tots who might be too young to participate in the Easter Egg Hunt.
There will be 1,000 Easter Eggs filled with many great prizes including Easter candy, stuffed animals and gifts from shops and restaurants in Squaw Valley. The Golden Egg contains a children’s season pass to Squaw Valley USA for the 2008/2009 season. Prizes can be collected from the prize tent located in the events plaza of The Village At Squaw Valley USA. Before you begin the Easter Egg Hunt check out the prize board located at the Prize Tent to see which eggs still haven’t been found, and maybe even some hints about where to look for some of the special Easter Eggs.
The Easter Egg Hunt starts at 9 a.m. when the lifts open and goes all day until the lifts close at 4 p.m. Base area activities are free for everyone. On mountain activities require purchase of a lift ticket.
Easter Sunday Services at Squaw There will also be a Sunrise Service at High Camp, el. 8,200’ overlooking Lake Tahoe at 7:30 a.m. To catch the free cable car ride to High Camp, please be at the cable car by 7 a.m. No skis or snowboards permitted. Tahoe Resorts Ministries hosts a Easter Sunday service at 2 p.m. by the Cross at the top of the Links chairlift. The Squaw Valley Chapel will hold a traditional Easter service at 10 a.m. For more information, call (530) 584-6266 or visit www.TheVillageAtSquaw.com www.squaw.com Easter Buffet at the Lone Eagle Grille Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa & Casino invites guests to celebrate Easter on March 23, with a day of playful children’s activities and a festive Easter buffet from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Lone Eagle Grille, located on the shores of Lake Tahoe, in Incline Village. The buffet will feature a vast selection of dishes to please every palate. The price of the buffet is $70 for adults, $35 for children under 12 and children under the age of four dine free at the children’s buffet.
The Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort will become a children’s playground for Easter with a whimsical “Bunny Patch” complete with engaging Easter arts and crafts, fun videos and a special kid’s buffet. A diverting Easter Egg Hunt will feature the Easter Bunny, himself. The egg hunt will begin promptly at 11:30 a.m. at the Resort’s private beach, (weather permitting).

Spring Eggstravaganza The Spring Eggstravaganza Annual Community Easter Egg Hunt will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 22, at Incline Beach, in Incline Village.
Easter Bunny Jubilee Royal Gorge The Silliest Easter Bunny will make an appearance this year at the popular Easter Egg hunt for little skiers and their encouraging parents at Royal Gorge Cross Country Ski Resort starting at 11 a.m. sharp on Sunday, March 23. Easter Festivities Easter Festivities are planned for all ages at Northstar-at-Tahoe, including an egg toss, fun race, egg hunt and a visit from the Easter Bunny this Easter Sunday. The Easter Bunny will make guest appearances both in the Village at Northstar and on the mountain. The resort will host an Easter Egg Hunt at 11 a.m. on the Village Overlook, located above the skating rink. Guests who want to combine a great day on the slopes with Easter Sunday services are invited to attend a non-denominational worship service at the top of Vista Express chairlift at 2 p.m. For two real challenges, guests can participate in an egg run at noon in front of the Ski School at mid-mountain and a raw egg toss at 3:30 p.m. on the Village Overlook.
