The Space
The exterior is faux industrial with corrugated sheet metal siding and a brick-lined courtyard for noshing on a sunny day. Inside is open and airy. The atmosphere is inviting and lively with high ceilings and brightly painted walls. The large windows allow plenty of natural light for reading or browsing on a laptop.

The Food
From breakfast to lunch, owner Cass Rodriguez has created a menu that is both diverse and simple. The best part? It’s good for you. Rodriguez and company strive to use fresh ingredients in all offerings; the baked goods are organic, the dressings made in house. Even the kid’s menu has an organic PB&J.

Breakfast can be as basic as a bagel with butter or as spicy as a supreme burrito with housemade salsa — one of the most popular items by the way. Lunch can include hot soup and a fresh Cobb salad along with big sandwiches and juicy wraps.

The Drinks
“Nice Beans” reads the Joe Coffee T-shirt and it’s true. The coffee is fresh, hot and strong. Other popular drinks include fresh fruit smoothies, David Rio Chai tea (hot or iced), and the Caramel Apple — a sweet cider treat with hot caramel added.

Gotta Try
The Cuban: a roasted pork and Genoa Ham hot-pressed “street” sandwich imported from Rodriguez’s hometown of Tampa, Fla. Or try the new Tree Hugger, a vegg-head’s dream with plenty of tofu, cucumber slices and sunflower seeds all stuck together in a pita with roasted tomato hummus — who needs meat or mayo? All sandwiches are big enough to split, unless you have a triathlete’s appetite.

To drink? The High Anxiety, a quadruple mocha with scalded Callebaut chocolate chips — guaranteed to keep you buzzing at work all day long.

Tidbit
Joe Coffee is not just a coffee shop but a small grocery where you can pick up a quick snack for the office or bulk teas and coffees not to mention a Joe Coffee T-shirt.
