Get out the pink boas, the pink slippers and pink ties, it’s time for the annual Tahoe Luna Chix Pink Party. Bar of America, always a great venue for music and nightlife, will play host to the party for the third year in a row on Friday, Oct. 26. The Pink Party is a fabulous fundraising event to raise awareness and money for the Breast Cancer Fund, and will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets to the event are $35 and include food, one drink, and a goodie bag. They will be on sale at Wild Cherries in Truckee beginning Oct. 15.

The Luna Chix are groups of women throughout America that enjoy sports and the outdoors together. They are dedicated to getting more women outside and active, and are committed to creating a positive impact on all communities. The Tahoe Luna Chix have guaranteed half of the proceeds from the Pink Party to the Breast Cancer Fund and the other half for programs specific to the Tahoe area.

The Pink Party is one of the biggest see-and-be-seen events of the season. The Los Locos band and Sol’Jibe will provide the evening’s musical entertainment and there will be live and silent auctions. In addition, a costume contest will be held and give participants the opportunity to win great prizes and bragging rights in Truckee in three categories: best overall, most creative and the pinkest.

The Tahoe LUNA Chix provided us with the Top 10 Reasons to attend the Pink Party:

1. Where else can you party and save the tatas at the same time?

2. Rooms full of dashing divas on a mission to wipe out breast cancer.

3. Great food, great vibe. (And for you single guys out there, a great guy-to-girl ratio.)

4. It’s the best pink costume party with a cause in Truckee (In fact, maybe the only one?).

5. It may be the only time you can wear everything pink in your closet at once.

6. There’s an outstanding silent auction.

7. It’s the best place to meet your friends and make new ones wearing fashionable pink tutus.

8. Where else can you see the hottest Luna Chix?

9. Where else can you dance in pink leather pants? (Also a great excuse to buy pink leather pants.)

10. How often can you publicly celebrate and support breasts!? (Unless you’re a push-up bra, that is.)

11. (Yeah, that’s right, this list goes to 11.) Can you say, “Costume Contest?”

About the Tahoe LUNA Chix

The Tahoe LUNA Chix is a small group of women passionate about the outdoors. All of them ride, some run and swim, but all enjoy the great outdoors. You can find them on local trails or roads enjoying the beauty of our environment. They are in their third year as part of the National LUNA Chix program and are most importantly working hard to positively impact the local community. They are accomplishing this by both fundraising efforts and by providing a non-competitive environment for women to get outside and play.

You will find the Tahoe LUNA Chix, now a 501(c)(3) organization, participating in the community through volunteerism, sponsoring rides and clinics, and raising money through the Pink Party Fundraiser. To learn more or to become involved, visit www.tahoelunachix.com.
